The Yosakoi Festival is a carnival in Kochi Prefecture, which is held every August in 9 competition halls and 7 performance halls in Kochi City, where about 200 teams and about 20,000 people dance wildly with Naruko (clappers) and decorate bandwagons with gorgeous decorations.
This festival began in August 1954, when the devastated post-war civilian life began to settle down, in order to blow away the recession, pray for the health and prosperity of the citizens, and encourage the promotion of the shopping district.
Asahi Shokuhin participates in this Yosakoi Festival and plays a major role in regional development.
